Most display issues are easier to solve when the basic signal path is understood. Think of the system as four pieces: power, content source, control hardware and the LED display itself.
Confirm power is present at the display, controller and source device before changing software settings. If multiple components are powered separately, verify each one is on and has completed its normal startup cycle.
Identify what sends content to the display: a media player, Windows PC, Mac, scoreboard computer or dedicated controller. Then verify how that signal reaches the LED processor — HDMI, network, fiber or another transport method.
Suntronics systems may use cellular, Ethernet, wireless network bridge or fiber. If a display is offline, check link lights, cabling, switch or bridge power and whether the control device still has network access.
The source resolution should match the LED canvas or processor configuration. A mismatch can create black borders, stretched images, cropping or an image that appears only on part of the display.
Before an event or campaign goes live, inspect the complete display for dead areas, color differences, loose cabinet connections or content that is being clipped at the edges.
Once the system is running correctly, document the working resolution, cabling, software settings and controller configuration. A known-good baseline makes future troubleshooting much faster.
LED displays reward simple, readable content. The farther away the audience is, the more important contrast, type size and message duration become.
LED displays are built for long service life, but regular inspection helps catch small issues before they become event-day problems.
Periodically inspect cabinets, modules, mounting hardware, seals and cable entry points. Look for obvious impact damage, corrosion, loose fasteners or water intrusion.
Keep ventilation areas free of leaves, dust buildup and debris. Electronics last longer when cooling paths are not blocked.
After major storms, inspect outdoor equipment for physical damage, water intrusion or power-related problems before assuming a software issue.
Loose or damaged HDMI, Ethernet, power and data connections are common causes of intermittent issues. Reseat connections only when it is safe to do so.
If the display is seasonal, power it up and run content periodically instead of waiting until opening night to discover an issue.
Record network, controller, resolution or software changes. When someone modifies the system later, the support team can understand what changed and when.
